Leaders want Vietnam-Japan strategic partnership to ceaselessly develop

Việt Nam’s consistent policy is treasuring and ceaselessly developing the strategic partnership with Japan.

Politburo member and Secretariat permanent member of the Communist Party of Việt Nam (CPV) Trương Tấn Sang made the statement when receiving Japan’s Foreign Minister Katsuya Okada on July 24.

Mr. Sang thanked Japan’s Government and people for having provided Việt Nam with official development assistance and expanded cooperation on economy, trade, investment and other fields. He stressed the important role of the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs in effective realization of agreements, programs, and cooperative projects of the two countries.

Mr. Okada affirmed that the Japanese Government attaches special importance to developing the comprehensive relations with Việt Nam.

He revealed that his PM will visit Việt Nam this year and that Japan wants to foster bilateral cooperation on key projects.

Earlier in the morning, Deputy PM, FM Phạm Gia Khiêm had talks with Minister Katsuya Okada to exchange views of bilateral ties and regional and international issues of common concern.

The two sides reached consensus in many specific measures to cement and deepen bilateral cooperation in economics, trade, investment, culture, education, energy, environment and climate change combat.

The two FMs agreed to establish the strategic dialogue between Việt Nam and Japan at the Deputy FM level to share opinions about politics and national defense./.
