RESCUE OF PHILIPPINE FISHERMAN




On 18 Dec. 2009, in Quy Nhon City, Vietnam, Commanding Office of Binh Dinh Border Police and related Agencies transferred Mr. Cyril Sanidad, Philippine citizen who was in distress and drifted to Vietnamese sea, to Ms. Pemela F. Durian, Third Secretary and Vice –Consul of  Philippine Embassy in Hanoi.

On 2 December 2009, while fishing tuna in Spratly Sea of Vietnam, a Binh Dinh vessel of 95362 TS, owned by Mr. Ngo Hong Viet (residing at Tan Binh Hamlet, Tam Quan Bac Village, Hoai Nhon District) found a small boat with a dying foreigner. They immediately rescued the man and brought him to shore.

The Commanding Office of Binh Dinh Border Police ordered the Border Post 308 to make all necessary procedures to receive and bring Mr. Cyril Sanidad for first aid health check – up and care. Mr Cyril Sanidad recovered well and now his health is normal.

At the transfer, Philippine Embassy in Vietnam expressed the appreciation and gratitude to Binh Dinh People’s Committee, to related agencies and Vietnamese fishermen for rescuing and helping Mr.Cyril Sanidad.
