Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Khiem visited Vietnam Embassy in Manila


At the invitation of Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines H.E. Mr. Alberto G. Romulo, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign Affairs H.E. Mr. Pham Gia Khiem paid an Official Visit to the Philippines and co-hosted the 5th Meeting of Joint Committee of Bilateral Cooperation (JCBC) between Vietnam and the Philippines on February 21st and 22nd, 2008. On this occasion, among other important activities, H.E. Mr. Pham Gia Khiem visited Vietnam Embassy in Manila in the afternoon of February 21st 2008 and had an cordial talk with all the diplomats and staff.

Ambassador Vu Xuan Truong reported to Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Khiem and the Delegation about the efforts made and achievements recorded by the diplomats and staff of the Embassy. The Embassy has strengthened unity among all Embassy’s diplomats and staff and redoubled its efforts in fulfilling its increasing duties and responsibilities. Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Khiem highly valued the efforts by the Embassy’s diplomats and staff. H.E. Mr. Pham Gia Khiem stressed, among other things, the increasing importance of the economic relations expansion, cultural understanding and cooperation, and various activities relating to Vietnamese community here in the Philippines. He also emphasized the role of the Embassy in carrying out the Plan of Action in the period 2007 – 2010 and the agreed contents of the 5th JCBC meeting.  Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Khiem and his delegation had a short tour of the Embassy.

On behalf of Vietnam Embassy’s diplomats and staff, Ambassador Vu Xuan Truong expressed sincere thanks to Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Khiem and the Delegation. The Ambassador also expressed strong determination of the whole Embassy to act in accordance with the guidance by Deputy Prime Minister.
